Where is ABC Tutoring located?
ABC Tutoring is conveniently located at TWO locations in Winter Haven, Florida:

1) Northeast Winter Haven: 

1690 Dundee Road Winter Haven, FL 33884 

2) Southwest Winter Haven 

2084 SR 540 (Winter Lake Road), Winter Haven, FL 33880

While at the studio, parents are welcome to wait in the waiting rooms while their child's tutoring takes place.  We have comfortable seating and a restroom available. Siblings are encouraged to stay at home, but they may wait quietly in the waiting rooms if needed.

Sessions are one hour in length.

How much do you charge?
Tutoring is tuition-based and is due on the 1st of each month: Rates are below:

4-Week Months: Feb, Mar, May, June, Aug, Sept, Nov,
1 session / week = $203 per month
2 sessions / week = $323 per month
3 sessions / week = $483 per month
4 sessions / week = $643 per month
5 sessions / week = $803 per month

5-Week Months: Jan, April, July, Oct, Dec

1 session / week = $253 per month

2 sessions / week = $403 per month

3 sessions / week = $603 per month

4 sessions / week = $803 per month

5 sessions / week = $1003 per month

Registration Fee: $85 - due at time of first appointment
Registration Fee includes:
1) Registration Fee
2) A Detailed Assessment
3) A one-on-one consultation to go over the results of the assessment.

How are payments made? 
Payments can be made with cash, check, money order at our tutoring facility, or online using the Intuit Payment Network with a checking account. To make a payment online, click on the Pay Now button at the bottom of your email that contains the invoice.

Call 863-293-6172 for a free phone consultation or email us at lyndatutors@yahoo.com. There is no obligation and no pressure whatsoever! Lynda will discuss your child's academic needs and how ABC Tutoring can help. If you decide to continue, an assessment with your child will be scheduled.

What times and days do you offer tutoring sessions?
Tutoring is available Monday - Friday from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm or earlier and on weekends by appointment. We are open year-round including holiday breaks and summers. We are only closed on nine major holidays: New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve Day, and Christmas Day.

Will my child be scheduled to tutor with other students? 
NO. ABC Tutoring does exclusive one-on-one tutoring specifically tailored to YOUR child's needs. Your child will never be paired with other students. This allows your child to get the best help possible by focusing on his or her needs exclusively.  

What kind of programs do you use with your students?
We use a phonics-based program which can be combined with Orton-Gillingham methodology, a research-based and proven method of multi-sensory reading and language instruction specially developed for helping dyslexic learners and struggling readers. We expand this method to work with children and adults with other language-based learning differences, English language learners, and individuals with ADHD. It is also a great method for non-learning-disabled students. We also use Lindamood-Bell programs and research-based programs such as ABEKA, Bob Jones University, Math You See, Scholastic, etc. to help your child achieve success and build confidence!

Do you offer homework help? 

Yes, we are here to serve you and your child's needs! If your child needs help with homework we are here to help. If your child needs remediation to close the gap in their academics, we can do that too! If your child is advanced and needs a challenge, we are up to that as well! We love what we do and can't wait to help your child in whatever capacity he/she needs! Their success is a WIN for everyone!!!

What kind of incentives do you offer for the students during the sessions?
Children love to be challenged and have fun! Standards are set high for students at ABC Tutoring and our students LOVE to meet them.  Stickers, prizes, points, treats, games, and food/snacks are great incentives for children to help them excel toward their goals! Kids can't wait to come and hate to leave!

How will I know how my child is doing at ABC Tutoring?
Understanding your child's progress in tutoring is an important part of ABC Tutoring. The tutor will discuss your child's progress during the last few minutes of their sessions. During this time the tutor will describe areas that were worked on during the session as well as successes and difficulties your child had during their time with their tutor. This helps parents better understand the progress their child is making and how they can help at home.
